FOREST ANIMALS BIRTHDAY

J-25 It's my month. The month of my children's birthdays. We talked about that of the youngest during all the holidays. She will be 6 years old. She takes herself for Totoro, the small, the cute. She dresses night and day in her kigurumi and walks her arms along her body to make people forget that she has any. And so, we agreed that the Totoro birthday was not easy, that we kept it for next year and that we opted for a party "cute forest animals". Yes, I know, there is a world. But, as she told me herself, Totoro is the spirit of the forest and she loves the forest. Like, she's in tune. And so, as "that's what intelligence is for" (she says it), going from Totoro to the too too cute animals of the forest, it's not completely disconcerting (that's me saying it). To make my life even easier, I'm going to follow advice for the basics of organization, that will be a good start.

J-25  always. Normally, like me, you are exhausted by this reasoning. So, let's keep it simple. We are going to buy ready-made invitation cards. No, because I'm going to have to save my strength. The party is in 25 days. If you want to make them yourself, it's still possible ! I order my boxes.

J-22 Magic Magic, I have my birthday invitations. It's still crazy internet! Well, I fill them myself, because the spirit of the forest has, as it were, taken refuge in its lair for a long hibernation… Provided it comes out on the day of the party! Note, I put all the chances on my side, we party on the day of spring.

J-17 I would go and hibernate myself at the bottom of a den too. But my daughter explains to me that it's a very small den and that there isn't room for two. The bitch. In a forest there are rabbits, foxes, reindeer, deer, hedgehogs, raccoons, squirrels, owls, field mice, robins, mushrooms, acorns, pine cones … I do like the method of the history-geo dissertation of my middle schooler son (I will do a post on it one day), I throw all my ideas in bulk and after, I make a plan and only after, I write. And so, there are also bears and wolves. I can do cute animals on one side and fierce beasts on the other. I don't know, I hesitate.

J-15 Armed with my lumberjack shirt and a huge tartan shawl, I decide on the activities and the atmosphere and place my order. All that was needed was a conditioning. We make a big deal out of it, but in the end, you just have to be comfortable in these clothes and the tartan for some obscure reason makes me look good. It makes me happy and afterwards, I am effective. So, even if the ready-made kit is attractive, I prefer to select my essentials by myself! I start with disposable tableware, I take the total golden fawn look: plates, towels, cups, straws and I melt in front the Garland super hot! I add Balloons et candles mini foxes, much too cute, I would be sorry to miss them! Good for the table decoration, that will be enough, but I still miss so many things! I want people to believe it! So, I go all out (maybe too much?!), plain balloons printed with mini rabbits, a doe-shaped mylar balloon, a pinata mushroom, a cookie cutter fox and owl, some little goodies and voila !

J-10 Everything is closed. I remind you that I placed my order 5 days ago, that my son is in college and therefore he does not know that he has a mother and that my daughter is hibernating. So I have nothing else to do but take care of myself. After a few hours of yoga, I too feel in tune with the forest. Limit, I am Mother Nature.

J-7 Preparation of the playlist, printing of printables, printing of the list of games and birthday games themselves, shopping list, list of animals to adapt in the different games, realization of my goodie bags… Yes, because I decided to make them myself. As for the playlist, it seems complicated to me to ignore Chantal Goya, Peau d'âne and Blanche-Neige. To get the party started, I mean. To get in the mood, all that.

J-1 In the evening in my kitchen.

I start developing:

- red and white meringue to make mushrooms like those of Morello cherries.

- round shortbread cookies, I make lots of them, tomorrow, I will cover them with sugar paste or marzipan and I will transform them into raccoons, rabbits, foxes and bears.

- a Nutella log that I cover with white frosting or Nutella (depending on my decoration and the season) and I cover the frosting with fir trees and animals or flower petals (depending on my decoration and the season).

⏰ D-DAY ⏰

8h I wake up just before the sun. Just to give him a few greetings and put me in a good mood.

9h  option 1. My daughter is still sleeping. She didn't understand that her hibernation was ending today. I have too much potato. It's because of all the ginseng I drank this winter. I'm going to do a little jog just to check the state of the forest and make my final location. The weather is dreamy, the wood is green and budding. I'm going for it. I find 4 trees close enough together to be able to hang golden garlands on them and create an area. I call my husband and tell him to drop off all my gear (that I have previously prepared). I have my gear (my husband is Spider-Man). I install my garlands. It's beautiful, the sun is reflected in it. I set up a flea market table in the middle of the garlands. I cover it with a large piece of white fabric. To give a magic touch, I install two large candlesticks. I customized my candles with gold glitter. Either I throw golden confetti on the table, leaves, acorns, pine cones and features figurines of woodland animals. Or, I launch colored flower petals and I have animal figurines whose colors match!!! Then I install my plates, my goblets, glass bottles covered with golden sequins… The table is crazy!!!

9h  option 2. My daughter is still sleeping. She snores. I would go back to bed. It's freezing. However, there is someone who told me that it was spring. The trees are bare. I opt for the cocooning version and I take advantage of the calm and my inner peace to reconstitute a wood in my living room. I'll pretend I'm inside Donkeyskin's cabin (when she waves her wand). Animal skin, a large white tablecloth, candlesticks, confetti, leaves, acorns, pine cones and glittering figurines of woodland animals, plates, cups... And I make a ceiling of garlands of golden stars. I told you I had the potato.

12 h  I find my daughter who has barely got out of bed. I hope she's not sick… I wear a rabbit mask, I dress in a white sweater and white jeans, I make my cheeks!! My daughter wears forest fairy dress. It's magical!

15 h A dozen cute animals are there. I add eyelashes, cheeks and freckles to them, I comb them with wood. Now they are just too cute.

15h10 We do a round. I introduce myself. I am the spirit of the forest and I will make you one forest animals quiz !

15h20 You are very strong. We are going to play One two Three Sun, but this version is a bit special. Because you will have to take steps of forest animals. We start with the wolf. And to make matters worse, you can make the sound of the animal at every step!!

15h30 And now let's do a round. We are going to do a Postman forest version. Animals write love letters to each other. Yes, because it's not just bears that live in the forest. There are also cute little bunnies.

15h40 We are going to do a workshop. Sit on the ground in front of me. I will explain to you how to make 3d animals. Here's all the gear you need.

16 h Cheer. Don't forget to put your names on your animals!! Let's do a round of animals.

16h05 It's time for birthday snack ! We will have to organize a little to avoid the stampede.

16h20 You know the story of Little Red Riding Hood ? What about the Three Little Pigs? As you know, in these stories, there is a wolf! Yes because, can you imagine, in the forest, there are not only squirrels!! We are going to play Wolf are you there ? Kids love this birthday game!!!

17h15 We are going to make a new workshop. I'm going to have a herbarium made for you. I'm going to give you each a small notebook (you can also have them do it) as well as some leaves that I picked up before the party (if you're in the forest, you can of course ask them to pick them up). If you don't want to make a herbarium because there are no more leaves in the woods, you can have them make a memory !

17h45 Before opening the birthday gifts, we have a delicate mission, to wake up the bear who has not grasped that today is spring and that it is time for him to come out of his torpor. This is'un ticklish bearr. So you have to go get the pinata he jealously guards without waking him up...
